A simple get well card . . .

Card base is Real Red. The image is stamped on Watercolor paper that was cut with the Big Shot, and colored with Watercolor Wonder Crayons and an Aqua Painter. The image is layered on a piece of Ballet Blue that was also cut with the Big Shot. Silver Brads were used around the frame.

The phrase is stamped with Real Red on a strip of Very Vanilla, matted with a strip of Ballet Blue.

We have been working on my sons Eagle Project, scrapping children that have stayed at the Las Vegas Ronald McDonald House, I post some pictures of that next week.

A Little Bit of Magic- Cottage Wall

I love the Cottage Wall designer paper, this should be retiring in June, there is a color in the design that is retiring so I am assuming that this paper will too.
The card base is Whisper White, with a front from the Cottage Wall designer paper.
I stamped the image with Stazon on watercolor paper and colored it with markers and an Aqua Painter. (I was asked why I have been using markers instead of Watercolor Wonder Crayons, I use both, Markers make for a more vivid image, crayons are more muted. With markers I have every Stampin' UP color, with crayons I don't have the In Colors) I pulled the colors for the image mostly from the designer paper. I added Dazzling Diamonds to the edges of the wings.
the image has a narrow border of Rich Razzleberry, then mounted again on Old Olive.
Have a great day, let me know what you think of this card.

Animal Stories

I'm using up my designer paper that will probably be retired at the end of June, this paper has Ruby Red and that color is retiring.

This is an easy baby card, the base is Sahara Sand CS, I've layered two pieces of Autumn Traditions on the front, with a strip of Elegant Eggplant Grosgrain Ribbon covering where the two papers meet. The image is stamped on Very Vanilla CS with More Mustard Ink, then matted on Elegant Eggplant CS. Hello Baby is from Teeny Tiny Wishes, it is on Very Vanilla stamped with More Mustard, punched out with the Word Window and mounted on a piece of Elegant Eggplant punched with Modern Label.

This card is available for you to make on Open Stampin' Tuesday

A Little Bit of Magic- Gift Set

My Granddaughter had a birthday party to go to yesterday, it was a "Fairy Party" so this is the gift we made for the birthday girl.
I covered a large and a small composition book with Barely Banana CS(retired) on the front cover of the large one I embossed the small fairy image with versamark and a retired embossing powder Hologram, using the same embossing on the small the image I used was the fairy dust. The binding on the books is a piece of designer paper from Tea Party.
I stamped the main images on water color paper with Stazon and colored the with markers and an Aqua Painter, I matted the large image on Pretty in Pink, added the girls name in Almost Amethyst(retiring) and matted it again on Almost Amethyst. The small image is matted only on Almost Amethyst.
The tin holds crayons, I embossed the small fairy all over the top with the Hologram embossing powder. The gift was a hit with everyone that attended and mainly with the birthday girl!

Fifth Avenue Floral-Manhattan Flower Folder

The card base is Very Vanilla, I ran the front of the card through he Big Shot with the Manhattan Flower folder for the dry embossed background, I then cut along the top edges of the flowers to the fold.

I stamped the Happy Birthday on the inside of the card near the top so that it would show when the card is closed. I used Regal Rose ink to stamp the phrase.

Next I stamped the roses from Fifth Avenue Floral with Versamark and embossed with black embossing powder. I watercolored the shadow areas of the roses with Pretty in Pink and Regal Rose. After watercoloring I spritzed the roses with homemade shimmer mist(shimmer paint and alcohol) so that the roses shimmer in the light.

This card is a card that definitely looks better in real life, it did not photo well enough to show the shimmer and the pink shadows.

This card could be used as a wedding or anniversary card by changing the sentiments.

Motorcycle- Black and White

I was going for easy and simple. The card base is Whisper White with a front of Basic Black that has been run through the Big Shot with the folder Square Lattice. The Motorcycle is stamped with Stazon on Whisper White, with the edges sponged. Image is layered on Basic Gray. Party Hearty is stamped in Real Red and punched with the Word Window punch, layered on a Modern Label punch in Basic Gray. The Cogs are also Basic Gray and punch with the new punch Extra-Large Cogs Double, from the summer mini.

This card is one of my Tuesday Open Studio Cards, the only change I made(and it is for the better) I used Versamark and Black embossing powder for the motorcycle. So come over on Tuesday and make a card or two, cards are pre-cut ready to stamp and put together, cost $1.50 a card.

King of the Grill

If you have read some of my older posts you know that my husband doesn't think that women know what men think when a man thinks masculine card(men think boobs). I almost didn't buy this set, but my husband walked by when I was looking at it in the Summer Mini(page 29) and said "Now you could make a card for a an with that one". So of course I bought it ;).

The card base is Going Gray(retiring and going fast). I ran a strip of Not Quit Navy through the Big Shot with the Square Lattice folder to add texture to the card front. I stamped the image on Watercolor paper with Stazon and colored it with Markers, Watercolor Wonder Crayons and an Aqua Painter. I matted the image with NQN and Dusty Durango. I used Word Window and Modern Label punches. A great card for birthday or Father's day!

A Little Bit of Magic

My daughter bought this set, so I decided to play with it, this is the card I came up with for one of the cards that can be made on the Tuesday Open Studio Stamping.

The image is stamped with Stazon on water color paper, colored with Markers and an Aqua Painter, Dazzling Diamonds were added to the edges of her wings. The designer papers come from Razzleberry Lemonade and Cottage Wall, Matted with Melon Mambo and Old Olive. The card base is Whisper White. The phrase is from Pony Party from the main catalog

This stamp set is in the Summer Mini on page 21, Wood mount $18.95, Clear mount $14.95.

Motorcycle

This card uses a few things from the new Summer Mini from Stampin' UP!
The image is a sold single stamp called Motorcycle, the card front was run through the Big Shot with a new impressions folder called Square Lattice, and the third from the mini is the cogs punch with the new punch Extra Large Cogs Double, how's that for a name?

I stamped the image with Stazon on Watercolor paper and colored with markers, blended with Aqua Painters. I matted the image with Real Red and Basic Black CS. Party Hearty comes from the set of the same name, stamped in Real Red and punched out with the Word Window mounted on a Basic Black Modern Label punched piece.

This could be either a teenage boy birthday card or change the phrase and make for any occasion you need a masculine card.

Goofy

The card base is Pacific Point, a returning color available on July 1. Stampin' UP has a fun set of sayings called Smarty Pants- no images. I borrowed my grand daughters Micky Mouse story book (you may see other Disney characters at a later date) Goofy is made with different sizes of oval punches as well as 1 circle punch. Goofy will be done at an upcoming Punch Art class.

The phrase was stamped with VersaMark and Winter White embossing powder.

Lots of Bots-- Steampunk

My son Ryan made this card today- he's really into Steampunk. He has been sick the last few days and home from school.

The card base is Basic Gray, the image is stamped with markers (leaving out the balloon and gift bag) on Whisper White CS, matted on Bravo Burgundy. The Cogs are punched with the new punch "Extra Large Cogs Double" colors of CS Soft Suede, Bravo Burgundy, Basic Gray and Going Gray(retiring) edges are sponged with black. Some of the cogs are popped up with dimensionals.

Note about retiring colors, some of the card stock is already gone, some ink refills are on back order.

The card base is Very Vanilla CS
Sizzlit- Lots of Tags

Fifth Avenue Floral

This card started because I had a piece of Basic Black that I had ran through the big shot with the new Square Lattice embossing folder, the stamp set was already out on my desk so this is what I came up with. My card base is Very Vanilla cut at 4 1/4" x 11" after folding I stamped the flower with Stazon on the upper 2/3 of the base. I wrapped the polka dot ribbon around the Basic Black piece and added it to the bottom of the card.

The phrase is from Teeny Tiny Wishes stamped with Stazon on Very Vanilla, punched with the Large Oval punch, layered on a Wide Oval of Basic Black, layered on Real Red using the Lots of Tags sizzlit.

Moms

This is another card that my son made using Bloomin' Beautiful stamp set. He used markers directly on the rubber and stamped it on Whisper White CS. He used the Scallop Trim corner punch as well. Other CS is is Real Red and Bordering Blue.

Here is a great mom video, my youngest daughter bought me one of her CDs a couple of years ago, I find her funny.
