Mother's Day Squash Book

This is the Squash Book we made in class last night. The instructions are on splitcoaststampers. For the cover we used chipboard coasters that we covered with Berry Bliss Designer Paper. We wove the 5/8" Chocolate Chip Grosgrain Ribbon for the front decorated with flowers that we used the Boho and Three for You punches. We layered the flowers together and used a pink Rhinestone Brad for the center. Pink Gingham Ribbon was used to tie the book closed. I used Close to Cocoa, Purely Pomegranate, and Regal Rose CS for the pages. Great as a brag book or as a book of quotes on Mothers for Mother's Day.

I stamped the Bride on Whisper White CS with StazOn and painted the letters with Pretty in Pink ink pad and a Blender Pen, the flowers are Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose, Purely Pomegranate and Certainly Celery. I used Two-way Glue and Dazzling Diamonds on the letters. I mounted this image on a piece of Regal Rose CS that I distressed with the Tool Kit; I mounted it again on a piece of Pretty in Pink CS. I mounted it on the card base. To balance the bottom of the card I added three square Rhinestone Brads.

Zoofari

Zoofari and It's Your Birthday are the sets used for this card, I remember seeing a card something like this when the set came out, but I don't remember where. I borrowed the set from my good friend Deena and this is the card I made. The card base is a 4 ¼" x 5 ½" piece of Wild Wasabi CS. I stamped the images on Whisper White CS and colored them with Watercolor Wonder Crayons and an Aqua Painter. I cut squares from the Designer Series paper in Almost Amethyst, So Saffron, Certainly Celery, and Rose Red. I used the 1 3/8" circle punch to frame the animals that I colored to match. I mounted each square on Basic Black CS and mounted each of them on the card base. I used birthdays are best in Wild Wasabi ink stamping one word at a time. For some reason this card reminds me of fruit striped gum:).

For My Mother

This is the card I'm giving my mom this year ( she doesn't even know I have a blog so she won't see this until I give it to her). I used three different set on it, Embrace Life, Celebrate Everything, and All Holidays. The card is a criss-cross card I made with instructions I found on splitcoaststampers. I used Groovy Guava CS on the base the red stripe id from Ginger Blossom designer paper, I used Sticky Strip to hold it closed. The bellyband is River Rock Textured CS. I used the Round Tab punch on Ruby Red CS to make the circle behind the Cameo Coral CS Scallop punched circle, on Naturals White CS I stamped blossoms from Embrace Life that I used the Markers to color first, I used Ruby Red and Always Artichoke I punched it with the 1 3/8" circle punch. The insert base is Ruby Red CS I used the Round Tab punch for what it was made for, a tab. I used a Pewter Large Eyelet, that I set with the Crop-a-dile I stamped Celebrate in Cameo Coral on Naturals White CS. I threaded River Rock Stitched Ribbon thru the eyelet.

Spring Song

I made the top card first, but I just didn't like it... it sat around my desk for a couple of weeks before I took it apart and remade it.

After taking off the horizontal layer I liked the card much better. The card base is 4 ¼" x 5 ½" Chocolate Chip CS. I layered Close Cocoa Designer Paper on Groovy Guava that distressed with the tool kit. I wrapped a piece of Groovy Guava Stitch Ribbon around the DP, I threaded the ribbon thru a Ribbon Slide from the Occasions Mini Catalog and tied. I stamped the phrase from set on the card front with Chocolate Chip ink. I stamped the bird on Watercolor Paper with StazOn. I painted it with Watercolor Wonder Crayons and Aqua Painters I used Cameo Coral on the belly of the bird and Close to Cocoa and Creamy Caramel on the rest of the bird. The branch was done with Close to Cocoa and Old Olive. I distressed the edges, layered it on distressed Old Olive CS, then layered that on distressed Cameo Coral CS.

Embrace Life

Have you ever made a card that you just don't like? This is one of mine... I love the set it is made from (Embrace Life) ; it was the first one I bought when the new catalog came out. The Designer paper was one of my favorite too. I have made some cards that I love with this same stamp set, but I have made just as many that I don't like... Tomorrow I will post one of my favorites from this set.
The base of this card is 4 ¼" x 5 ½" Tempting Turquoise CS with a layer of Ginger Blossom DP. The corners of the designer paper are punched with the Ticket CornerPunch. The image is from Embrace Life, stamped twice in black StazOn on Whisper White CS. The flowers are colored with Groovy Guava and Cameo Coral ink using Blender Pens. The corners of the Whisper White CS are punched with the Ticket Punch, layered on Basic Black CS with the corners punched as well. The single flower use the stamp from the same set, it was made layering single ply toilet paper, misting with water and tamping it into the ridges of the stamp, this was done 7 times. After the toilet paper dried I removed it from the stamp and trimmed the image. Cameo Coral was sponged onto the edges of the flower, a turquoise Rhinestone Brad was used as a center of the flower; Dazzling Diamonds was used on the ends of the flowers center. The flower was mounted with Dimensionals. Happiness from Warm Words was stamped in Basic Black on Whisper White CS and punched with the large Oval Punch. The edges of the oval were sponged with Basic Black and then both the image and the greeting were mounted on the designer paper. See ya tomorrow.

Heartfelt Thanks

I saw a similar card somewhere last year but I don't remember where, if you do, let me know and I will give credit where credit is due. I started with a card base of 4 ¼" x 5 ½" in Pretty in Pink. I rolled Rough Texture over a piece of Creamy Caramel CS in the same color ink I stamped the flowers from Heartfelt Thanks using Pretty in Pink and Always Artichoke(stamped off once), I cut these out. On the piece I rolled with the Rough Texture I wrapped a piece of Creamy Caramel Gingham Ribbon around it and tied a piece of Black Grosgrain in the knot. The Basic Black CS is popped up on Stampin' Dimensionals. The piece of Creamy Caramel CS on top of the Basic Black is stamped with all the different words from Warm Words, this piece I distressed the edges, wadded up and tore pieces from. I tore a hole in the center and poked the flower through and popped it with Dimentionals. This was one of the first cards I made last year when I signed up as a demonstrator and was making cards for a display board.

Another Mother's Day Card

This is simple Mother's day card. I cut Very Vanilla CS 4 ½" x 11", folded it in half, and tore 1/3 of one side off. I set two Regal Rose eyelets to make a pocket out of the card. I cut the corners of to make the pocket card look like a tag(I didn't notice until I uploaded the picture that I left the card laying on an envelope:) ). On the front of the pocket I stamped the swirls from Bronc Buster, diagonally. I used another stamp from All Holidays, this time I masked out the word friend and with the stampin-ma-jig I added the word mother from the mother's day stamp from the same set, this was stamped on Very Vanilla CS with Regal Rose ink, this was layered on Pretty in Pink CS and Regal Rose CS. I cut out a large tag out of Regal Rose CS to go in the pocket.

Happy Mother's Day

This is a card we made in our Spring Stamp a Stack. We used the image from Thoughts of Father(to me this isn't a manly picture) and the greeting from All Holidays. The greeting was stamped on Very Vanilla CS with Regal Rose Ink above that the image was layered on Pretty in Pink then on Regal Rose, this was centered above the greeting and all was layered onto a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"Regal Rose Card base.

Pun Fun

Thank Ewe!
This card I made with two different stamps sets "Polka Dot and Paisley" and "Pun Fun". I used Stampin' Up!'s Real Red and Basic Black Markers to ink up the paisley and stamped it randomly on whisper white CS. The paisley was layered onto Real Red CS and that was layered onto a 4 1/4"x51/2" Basic Black card base. The Ewe from Pun Fun was stamped on Whisper White with StazOn then colored with Going Gray and Real Red markers. The Ewe was layered on Real Red and Basic Black CS. I tied red gingham ribbon around the Black CS, this was added onto the paisely front of the card. I used the photo corner punch in Real Red and Basic Black to add some balance to the card.
